Feature Drama | 1900 | Silent | B/W
A British soldier returns home after being away (at the Boer War?). He knocks on a door and a housekeeper answers. She takes a note from the soldier and closes the door. Shortly after she opens the door again and his mother and he have an emotional reunion. The mother returns inside the house, while the soldier paces up and down at the bottom of the front steps. Mother reappears now wearing her hat and cloak and takes the her son's arm. All the housekeepers/staff are on the steps to see him. Having collected his mother they walk arm in arm down the street. Outside a smaller house, the solider without his jacket, smokes a pipe while his mother sits on the stoop sewing. Her son goes indoors and brings her a cup tea.
