Children in the Edwardian period
Intertitle - "The Mission Hall Annual Outing, Scenes at Hove and Burgess Hill". Stunning footage of an informal group of girls looking into the camera, in starched pinafore and hats with flowers in them. They are a bit grubby and ill looking and look like they have dressed up for the occasion. Women smile gather to be filmed while holding the younger children, one woman has a prominent gap in her tooth. A boy sits on a donkey. A woman helps a little boy wave a British flag (Union Jack). The girls stumble around in front of the camera, some of them chewing. Mischievous looking boys in caps group together for their moment on film, tipping their caps and jumping up and down.
