Night time shots of burning of the Crystal Palace, South London, 1936.
Trees in foreground, smoke. The camera pans. The water tower. Fireman on top of tall extending ladder ineffectually spraying water. Firemen in closer shot with hoses. Firemen profiled against the fire. Smoke drifts by. Falling embers. Flames appear through roof.
Next morning, smoke and smouldering ashes. The tower. Pan across ruined site. Pillars. Part of the structure still stands. Pan down into building. Internal shots with smoke still rising. Cinders. A shell.
