Nice good quality amateur home movie of a trip to Blankenberghe in Belgium, Europe, circa 1936.
London, Victoria Station exterior and platforms. Dover. Ferry. Ostend, Belgium. Blankenberghe, seafront. Really weird mongrel dog that looks like a cross between a dog and a cat. Seaside and swimming. Sign saying 'Down With Indecent Dress'. Street. Another sign painted on beach hut roof saying 'Ladies Respect Yourselves'. Trip to Brussels on steam train (good). Locomotive breaks down. Brussels street scenes, including Place de Brouckere and city trams, Gloire de l'Infanterie monument, St Michael & St Gudula Cathedral viewed from a side street, Palais Royale and the Mont des Arts cascading fountain. Mannequin Pis, little statue of boy urinating. La Zoute, seafront. The pier at Blankenberghe with excursion boats. Ostend horse racing. Town band in street. Ferry trip back to England.
