Synopsis:

Bethlehem, In Palestine, now the occupied West Bank in Israel, also known as the Holy Land.
'The town of Bethlehem, still one of the smallest towns of Judah'
Women stand near ancient looking stone walls with bundles of twigs or fire wood. Children are all around. Arab men stand with a few sheep.
'The church of St. Mary, built in the third century on the spot where according to tradition, the Saviour was born'. Market square, with goats running around and buildings in Arabic architecture, fairly crowded with men and children, ancient church walls, the men wear caffeya, tradition Arab headdress, and a few fez. 'Upon the Mount of Olives, a short distance from Jerusalem lies Gethesemane' (sic).
A high road with an Arabic village along side and men walking down the track. A view across with a minaret and a grave yard. 'The Garden of Gethsemane has always been tended by Franciscan friars. 'A bearded monk walks around a formal garden'.
