Synopsis:

Lovely playground scenes at West Rise School, Sussex, with children improvising toys and games with hoops and stilts using cans and string to stand on. They also use slides and hula hoops and other playground equipment. In the trees they do Rope climbing and other activities.

By the River Tamar in Cornwall children look at a the crystals in a stone. Collecting rocks and shells. Looking at plants. Taking items back in a jar back to school. Nature table at school. Aquarium with fish. Pressed flowers identified in a book. Birds identified on the classroom wall.

Diving demonstration by Charmian Welsh, who took part in the 1952 Olympics observed by her brothers and sisters. Various style dives and somersaults.

Fire brigade at Euston fire station. Fire engines and fire display on ladders to a high tower. Engines leaving station.
