A rare record of the Gypsy communities in Hungary or Germany pre World War Two
Germany, East Europe. Gypsies possibly of Northern India, originally encampment of traditional caravans. Children playing, horses, horse carts, horse fair, bargaining over prices, striking a bargain. Woman in the street having her fortune told, palm reading. Selling clothes. Card game, gambling with dice. A fight. Women fighting. Begging. Children dancing, guitar playing, fiddle playing, women, men and old men dance. Rolling beer barrels and carrying bottled beer in crates. Two children leave shop (German writing on door) with milk carrier. Gypsy caravans in compound. Children combing hair and playing with long ribbon (like gymnastics!).
