The ultra-sonic echo sounder is used for small fishing boats to find fish. Details of how it works using a transmitter attached to the ship's bottom from which a cable runs to the recorder. Components, amplifer, power unit, recorder with paper printout.
Echo signals show the location of different types of fish sometimes up to 90 fathoms deep.
