Controversial programme from 1954 at the tail end of Senator Joe McCarthy's witch hunt of communists in the U.S.A.
He responds in length to an address made by Edward R. Murrow broadcaster for C.B.S. McCarthy tries in vain to discredit Murrow's address, by implicating him as part of his communist conspiracy. Murrow's rejoinder on April 13th 1954 is an eloquent and sustained rejection of the witch hunt started by Murrow. Rare telecast of McCarthy showing the ideological war he was waging on anybody prepared to contradict his views. The beginning of the end for McCarthy's Reds Under the beds paranoia. Cold War fever.
