Charlie Chaplin as "a bungaloafer by nature and a hammock tester by profession", who is forever reading weighty tomes and books and having mishaps while his wife takes care of the house and baby. Out buying the baby a bottle, Chaplin gets into a fistfight, punch up, row, over spilt coffee in a cafe. He and his opponent leave with the wrong coats, unleashing fury from their respective wives, who unearth a love letter and baby bottle.
