Synopsis:

Mao Tse-Tung (Mao Zedong) is commonly referred to as Chairman Mao.
Mao Tse-Tung's China.
Landlord's answering people's questions. Denunciation meeting. Landlord's wealth given to peasants. Peasants receive agricultural tools. Land being measured for distribution. Land deeds burned. Planting paddy fields. Land irrigation by primitive methods. Dam building of earth. Russian built dams. Coal mining, very mechanised. Steel furnaces and working. Women workers, in factories, truck drivers, children in nursery. School teacher teaches class who recites. Mao propaganda. Mid 1950's, Mao rally.
The Great Leap Forward (Mao started a series of experiments aimed at speeding up China's economic development in 1958). Ministers working . Home made local furnaces for steel production. Communes working. Lots of people asking in unison on the land. Harvesting.

1967.. Mao's revolution only accepted in 26 provinces
1968 Schools re open. Red guards sent to work in the countryside.
1969 Close up of Mao. He declared the Cultural Revolution to be over (although the official history of the People's Republic of China marks the end of the Cultural Revolution in 1976 with Mao's death).
18th August 1966, the Cultural Revolution (Mao forged, and later split, an alliance with the Soviet Union and launched the Cultural Revolution in 1966). Mobilization of the young people. Gathering in Peking. Mao arrives, Red guards. Young and enthusiastic followers cheering.
Street names changed. Bank names changed. Pictures of Mao sold in a shop, printing of little red book.
