1968 Schools re open. Red guards sent to work in the countryside.
1969 Close up of Mao. He declared the Cultural Revolution to be over (although the official history of the People's Republic of China marks the end of the Cultural Revolution in 1976 with Mao's death).
18th August 1966, the Cultural Revolution (Mao forged, and later split, an alliance with the Soviet Union and launched the Cultural Revolution in 1966). Mobilization of the young people. Gathering in Peking. Mao arrives, Red guards. Young and enthusiastic followers cheering.
Street names changed. Bank names changed. Pictures of Mao sold in a shop, printing of little red book.
