Synopsis:

Rhodesia and Nyasaland News, Africa, now Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
"Electricity for Charter Village". White corporate male making speech; demonstrating electricity. Black woman at home using electrical appliances: iron, cooker etc. "Mrs. Kupe". Black nurse running training course at Mpilo Central Hospital. Group of black nurses in classroom, learning about the heart and the use of hospital instruments.
"Top of the Class Teachers". White middle-class family in front of suburban home. Then driving in jeep to farm village. Teaching black children to write, sing etc. "Charcoal Burners" Huts in North Rhodesia. Black labourers chopping trees - piling logs. Earth placed on top. Hole at bottom of pile where fire is lit. Wood forms charcoal; which is dug out. Black woman sorts charcoal into sizes and bags. Bags of charcoal loaded into van.
" Claim your vote". Cars and bicycles on main road. Black mechanic working on car. Men by bicycle, reading newspaper which says, "claim your vote". Black man riding bicycle to voters' registration office. White registration clerk. Man fills in registration form for elections. Older white female typing in background; looks over form.
Television studio: 2 black men, 1 white. Questions on voting answered by white man. Black man gives his opinion on the election.
