Boxing with Jack Dempsey
Starts with ‘Do you remember? In April … Dempsey was wit us’ written in circle with open ink-holder in one bottom corner and books in the other, one opened with the year ‘1922’ prominent. Heavyweight champion of the world, American Jack Dempsey, on board a ship surrounded by hat-waving small male crowd, one of whom is famous British world champion boxer, Ted Kid Lewis. Dempsey, hat in hand, in suit, tie and overcoat. Closer picture of Dempsey laughing. He is then shown from the carriage of a train, signing autographs from the window from a crowd below. Film finishes with ‘Sir Ross Smith met a tragic death’. This confirms year as 1922 when aviator Smith died.
