"Double crossed" (1908). Interior office. Money is put onto a safe. Sneaky clerk takes a plasticine impression of safe key. 'The villain' come back at night, with top hat and oil lamp, to steal the money, then plants the evidence in someone else's desk. The man is convicted after much running about, and is seen on a chain gang. He makes a brief escape, and runs into a minister's house, begging for clothes so he can go and find the real crook, who in turn is discovered red-handed in a gambling house. The innocent man returns to his wife, the guilty one chews the bars of his cage. Notice:"No dogs allowed in this theatre". Notice: "Whimples just in! Our new line of smart buggy whips".
