Synopsis:

Egypt is often called "The Gift of the Nile" and this film shows how the life-giving waters are fed from the river to the fields 1950's

We see modern methods of controlling the flood water behind a great barrage, the Aswan Dam, and its distribution canals to the fields. We see, too, how the old methods, which have been used from time immemorial, are still carried on Aswan Dam. Oxen drive an ancient pump. Land divisions and workers with traditional tools. Cairo barrage controls Nile Delta. Feluccas. Steam train. Revolving drum water lift.
