It is early Xmas Day in 1974. Cyclone Tracy reduces Darwin in Northern Australia to ruins. 51 people are killed and 15 are missing at sea. Hundreds injured. 60% of all houses were wrecked. Eye-witness account. "There was a horrible high-pitched sucking noise". Scene of an aircraft topsy-turvy amid a devastated building. Scenes of damage buildings and vehicles. 270 Kilometre an hour winds. Buildings now Cyclone resistant-improvements shown. 7,500 new homes built with safety in mind. Solar energy now utilised. Population dropped to 11.000 because of the cyclone. People have now returned swelling the population back to 46,000.
