The cello 1960's
Frenchman Paul Tortelier plays the cello accompanied by other cellists. He covers the history of the cello and changes in how it was played. The techniques of different composers over a period of time. Paul plays pieces to demonstrate technique and expression. He talks to camera between pieces about various compossers and the inclusion of cello pieces in concertos and arias. On occasion he is accompanied by members of the National Junior Music School and the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain. (Mostly he plays unaccompanied).
