Synopsis:

Biography of Al Jolson.
Clips from the Jazz Singer and the Singing Fool, "Mammy", " Go Into Your Dance ", Good stock shots of Russian village in early twentieth century with a couple of children wandering along dirt track away from camera, a dwelling, Jews and Jewish life, shtetl, and then emigration to U.S.A., Ellis Island, New York 1920's. A good shot of East European immigrants at rail of ship as we see the Statue of Liberty in the background, and another shot of people leaving ship via gangplanks, presumably at Ellis Island, New York in the early years of the twentieth century. A wonderful interior scene of a Jewish Synagogue 1930's, theatre and cinema audience, stage scenes, vaudeville, nigger minstrel show, production shots of sound on disc talkies, Hollywood premiere, Jolson with troop in World War Two and Korea, spectacular grace.
